Oracle Release 12 Order to Cash Consultant - Client Based at Owens and Minor

Deloitte is the largest professional services firm in the world. They provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax and other services through their member firms.

Owens and Minor Movianto is a healthcare logistics partner for the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries.

As a highly regarded OTC specialist I was retained by Deloitte Consulting to conduct an audit of the Order to Cash solution at Movianto. This led to several other projects including:

  • Design and implementation of an automated Claims Management solution fully integrating Oracle Channel Revenue Management (Trade Management) with Oracle Order Management, Receivables and Payables;
  • Identification of unnecessary customisations in the Order to Cash solution;
  • Providing advice and process design to replace custom components with standard processes and functionality;
  • Documentation of processes to support the global roll-out of Oracle Order to Cash at Owens and Minor;
  • Advise on roll-out strategy and plan for global roll-out across 11 countries;

Deloitte Consulting were able to utilise my extensive international expertise in Oracle Order to Cash. I was able to quickly evaluate the key issues at Movianto, stabilise the business and provide a path for their global roll-out of Oracle Cloud Applications.

Reed Exhibitions are a global events business. Reed events are held throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

I returned to Reed Exhibitions as a trusted advisor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their global Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 roll-out. Achievements included:

  • Re-design of key processes to align with standard Oracle functionality;
  • Design of a harmonised global pricing model to provide scalability and reduce complexity utilising Oracle Advanced Pricing;
  • Design and implementation of CRM integrations with Salesforce.com;

TaylorMade Golf is a leading manufacturer of high-performance golf equipment and golf balls.

I was tasked with the analysis and resolution of major issues with a new implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12. This ‘trouble-shooter’ role involved the analysis and resolution of key issues to accomplish business stability. Achievements included:

  • Re-design of Available to Promise (ATP) and order scheduling functionality to satisfy business requirements, clear shipment backlog and ensure timely product delivery;
  • Re-design of the TaylorMade Configure to Order processes for custom Golf Clubs to align with standard Oracle CTO Functionality;
  • Analysis and re-design of the VAT tax solution for EMEA utilising Oracle E-Business Tax resulting in a substantial reduction in unnecessary customisations and a stable, accurate and scalable tax solution;
  • Simplification and standardisation of pricing processes resulting in a reduction in unnecessary customisations, improved pricing accuracy and visibility of margins;
  • Product support, training and knowledge transfer in Oracle Order Management, Shipping Execution, Advanced Pricing, Inventory, Bill of Materials and Purchasing Release 12.1.3.

HCL AXON is a UK-based business transformation consultancy.

Reed Exhibitions are a global events business. Reed events are held throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Quote to Cash Team Lead for a Greenfield Oracle Release 12 roll-out across 19 countries. Achievements included:

  • Team Lead for the Quote to Cash stream covering Oracle Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Inventory, Bill of Materials, Advanced Collections, Receivables and Cash Management modules Release 12.1.3;
  • Requirements Mapping to identify gaps in standard Oracle functionality;
  • Analysis and mapping of Oracle Localization requirements;
  • Design of core integrations with Reed Exhibition Quote to Cash systems including Salesforce.com and Floor Planning tools;

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sale of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations.

I was retained as a Supply Chain lead on NOV's global roll-out of the Oracle E-Business Suite. This involved:

  • Team Lead for Logistics, Procurement and Order Management;
  • Analysis, design and configuration of Oracle Order Management, Purchasing, iSupplier, iProcurement and Shipping Release 12.1.3;
  • Design and implementation of global Order to Cash and Logistics processes;
  • Delivery of design workshops and Conference Room Pilot (CRP);
  • Design and implementation of standard solutions to reduce complexity and remove unnecessary customizations;
  • Advise on best practice configuration for roll-out of Oracle Release 12 Supply Chain modules in Denmark;
  • Implementation of Denmark localizations into an existing global solution.

Ingersoll Rand are a global diversified manufacturing company with market-leading brands serving customers in commercial, industrial and residential markets.

I was a Lead Functional Consultant on Ingersoll Rand’s Release 12 global Oracle deployment. Key achievements include:

  • Analysis and design of global Order to Cash processes;
  • Advise on configuration requirements for Oracle Order Management, Shipping, Inventory, Warehouse Management and Advanced Pricing;
  • Design of local solutions for warranty sales, counter sales and deferred billing;

Oracle Supply Chain Team Lead – Client based at British Telecom

KPMG is a professional service company and one of the Big Four auditors. Following acquisitions by BT, KPMG were tasked with moving 6 Italian telecom companies onto an existing BT Oracle E-Business platform.

I was engaged as a trouble shooter and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Oracle Supply Chain and Order Fulfilment stream. The assignment involved:

  • Analysis and design of best practice global Order Fulfilment and Supply Chain processes for the Oracle E-Business Suite roll-out at British Telecom;
  • Re-design of key processes and configuration to eliminate unnecessary customisations;
  • Configuration of Oracle Order Management, Shipping, Inventory, Bill of Materials and Install Base;

I delivered Oracle E-Business Suite training to the Eaton implementation team and end-users as part of Eaton Corporation’s global roll-out of the Oracle E-Business Suite. The role included:

I was retained as a European Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an international Greenfield Oracle Release 12 Order to Cash implementation. The role involved:

  • Acting as the key point of contact for a US led global roll-out of Oracle Order to Cash across 18 European countries;
  • Advise on European legal and statutory localization requirements;
  • Design and delivery of Conference Room Pilots (CRP) across Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Inventory, Warehouse Management, Receivables and Cash Management in a Release 12 environment;
  • Advise on European VAT and Intrastat requirements and the configuration requirements in Oracle E-Business Tax;

NYSE Euronext was a multinational financial services corporation that operated multiple securities exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange, Euronext and NYSE Arca.

I provided Oracle Order to Cash expertise to NYSE Euronext as part of their global rollout of the Oracle E-Business Suite. This involved:

  • Advise on project plan for rollout of Oracle Order to Cash across 5 European countries;
  • Detailed design of client’s Multi-Org. architecture;

I Designed and delivered bespoke Oracle Telecommunications Service Ordering (TSO) classroom training in Oracle E-Business Suite. The task involved :

  • Design and preparation of training material for Oracle Inventory, Bill of Materials, Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Install Base, Service Fulfilment Manager, Configurator and Telecommunications Service Ordering (MACD);
  • Environment configuration and preparation for delivery of Oracle Telecommunications Service Ordering courses;

Oracle Order to Cash Team Lead - Client based at Pfizer

Accenture is a global management consulting and professional services company.

Pfizer is a leading research-based biopharmaceutical company. They develop and produce medicines and vaccines for a wide range of medical disciplines.

The Pfizer project was one of the largest and most complex at the time. I was brought in by Accenture to direct a Functional team responsible for an Oracle E-Business Suite implementation across 6 Nordic countries utilising a new European Shared Services centre. The role involved:

  • Multi-org implementation using the Oracle Fast Forward methodology;
  • Management of a Functional team consisting of 12 configuration and process consultants;
  • Re-design of key processes to close gaps in the standard application functionality;
  • Design and configuration of the Oracle Order Management, Accounts Receivable, Shipping Execution, Advanced Pricing, Inventory and Purchasing modules;
  • Design and specification of interfaces with 3rd party systems.

Tieto is one of the largest IT service providers in Europe.

Telia Company AB is the dominant telephone company and mobile network operator in Sweden, Finland and Baltic States.

As one of the only independent consultants worldwide with knowledge of Oracle's Telecommunications Service Ordering (TSO) solution, I was retained by Tieto as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the TSO implementation at Telia. The role involved:

  • Providing expertise on the implementation of Oracle Telecommunications Service Ordering, Configurator, Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Inventory and Bill of Materials utilising MACD functionality;
  • Design and modelling of complex telecommunications products in Oracle Inventory, Bill of Materials and Configurator;
  • Providing solutions for complex pricing scenarios using Oracle Advanced Pricing;
  • Design of solutions for integration with billing and fulfilment systems;

Vodafone is a multinational telecommunications company. It owns and operates networks in 26 countries and has partner networks in over 50 additional countries.

I was retained by Deloitte Consulting as a Functional Team Lead on Vodafone's Oracle E-Business suite implementation. The role included:

  • Feasibility study into the replacement of Legacy systems with Oracle Applications;
  • Development of Business Case and Proposal for replacement of Legacy systems;
  • Full life cycle multi-org implementation using the Oracle Fast Forward methodology;
  • Responsibility for the successful implementation of Oracle Order Management, Inventory, Bill of Materials, Purchasing and iProcurement;
  • Management of a functional team consisting of 12 configuration and process consultants;
  • Analysis of Legacy systems;
  • User Requirements Analysis;
  • Business Process Re-engineering and documentation;
  • Design and configuration of the Oracle Order Management, Shipping Execution, Advanced Pricing, Inventory, Purchasing and iProcurement modules;
  • Design and specification of interfaces with 3rd party systems;
  • Go-Live Support.

My role at Vodafone provided the opportunity to manage a functional team through an Oracle implementation. This applied and developed my Project Management skills whilst maintaining my hand-on configuration and design competencies.

Order Management Team Lead

Thales is a multinational company that designs and builds electrical systems and provides services for the aerospace, defence, transportation and security markets.

I was contracted as an Oracle Team Lead with responsibility for the Fast Track implementation of Oracle Order Entry at various UK sites. This involved:

  • Fast-track implementation into an existing multi-org environment;
  • Analysis of Key Order Fulfilment processes;
  • Design and hosting of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with key users;
  • Design and Delivery of Training;
  • Specification and set-up of Order Entry Rel. 11.03 in a multi-org environment;
  • Procedure re-design and documentation.

Order Management Team Lead - Client based at Motorola

KPMG is a professional service company and one of the Big Four auditors.

Motorola was an American multinational telecommunications company. Motorola designed and sold wireless network equipment such as cellular transmission base stations and signal amplifiers.

I was brought in by KPMG to rescue the Order to Cash stream on Motorola's global Oracle Applications implementation. This involved:

  • Analysis and re-design of key global Order to Cash processes;
  • Oracle Applications implementation using KPMG R2i methodology;
  • Configuration of Oracle Order Entry in a Multi-Org environment;
  • Conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with key users;
  • Management of data conversion;
  • Trans-European go-live support.

Having joined the Motorola project at a late stage in the cycle it was important to minimise configuration changes. Gaps were therefore resolved by careful process re-design.

Oracle Applications Functional Consultant - Client Based at Racal Communications

Racal was the third largest British electronics firm. It operated throughout 110 countries worldwide and employed over 30,000 people. It was the parent company of Vodafone.

I designed and managed a feasibility workshop for Oracle. This involved:

  • High level analysis of current Order Fulfilment processes;
  • Design and Configuration of Oracle Order Entry, Inventory and Purchasing modules;
  • Specification and set-up of a prototype Order Fulfilment system in a multi-org environment;
  • Training and supporting end-users;
  • Performing gap and cost benefit analysis.

Racal was purchased by Thales Group. As a direct result of the feasibility workshop I went on to implement Oracle Order to Cash at Thales.

Oracle Inventory Team Lead - Client Based at ntl :

ntl: provided cable television, cable internet and fixed-line cable telephone services. ntl: became the dominant cable operator in the United Kingdom, controlling more than 90% of the market. Though a series of mergers they are now part of Virgin Media.

I was retained by Oracle Consulting to direct a team responsible for the successful implementation of Inventory across eleven sites. This involved:

  • Full life cycle implementation using the AIM methodology;
  • Business Requirements Analysis;
  • Business Process Re-engineering to close gaps in standard Application functionality;
  • Specification and set-up of Oracle Inventory;
  • Management of data conversion activities;
  • Procedure Documentation and Consultation.

My role at ntl: provided the opportunity to fully utilise my process re-engineering skills.

Oracle Applications Functional Team Lead

Merck Serono is a multi-national biopharmaceutical company.

I was retained by Merck Serono as Oracle Applications Team Lead on a global project implementing Oracle Applications in 35 countries. My role encompassed:

  • Full Life Cycle implementation using the AIM methodology;
  • Analysing end-user requirements and mapping these to the standard Oracle modules;
  • Analysis of key Order Processing and Inventory business processes;
  • Re-design of key processes to close gaps in the standard Application functionality;
  • Specification and set-up of Oracle Order Entry, Inventory and Purchasing;
  • End-user training and support;
  • Business Procedure documentation.

My role at Merck Serono allowed me to contribute to a truly global project. The Biotech. industry illustrates many issues that cannot easily be resolved with the standard Oracle products. I resolved these using careful Business Process Re-engineering and concise procedures.

I consulted on Merck Serono implementations in numerous countries including Switzerland, Mexico, Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Australia, UK, Singapore and Spain.

Europcar provides customers with access to the world's largest vehicle rental network through its own operations, franchisees and partnerships.

I was contracted to resolve major issues with a new implementation of Oracle Purchasing. The role involved the complete redesign, set-up and testing of Oracle Purchasing in a Production environment.

Oracle Applications Functional Consultant – Client Based at Nortel

Nortel was a multinational telecommunications and data networking equipment manufacturer.

I was retained by Oracle Consulting to complement a large team implementing Oracle Applications at client sites throughout Germany.

I was responsible for the successful implementation of an Order Fulfillment solution fully integrating the Oracle Order Entry, Project AccountingInventory and Purchasing modules with the client’s existing systems. This involved:

  • Full Life Cycle implementation using the AIM methodology;
  • Providing dynamic and highly effective solutions for gaps between the client’s business processes and standard Oracle Applications functionality;
  • Analysis and re-definition of key ‘Order Fulfilment’ processes;
  • Specification and set-up of Oracle Order Entry;
  • Training and support of end-users in ‘Order Fulfilment’.

My role at Nortel allowed me to apply my problem solving skills in a fast moving and challenging environment. This resulted in a unique and highly efficient process driven solution.

Plantronics is a global leader in business and consumer audio communications. Plantronics implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to help streamline global operations and support its rapidly growing business.

I played a key role in the multi-org global implementation of the Oracle Order to Cash modules focusing on sites in the UK, Netherlands and Germany. This involved:

  • Analysis of end-user and management requirements;
  • Business Process Re-engineering;
  • Specification and set-up of Oracle Order Entry, Receivables, Inventory and Purchasing modules in a Multi-Org environment;
  • Providing training and support.

My position at Plantronics provided first hand experience of an aggressive vanilla implementation in a fast moving multinational environment.
